CAPE's 35th anniversary gala is a celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander talent in Hollywood, with a special focus on Randall Park and Manny Jacinto. The event, presented by Lexus, will take place in Downtown Los Angeles on October 3rd, marking a decade since the last gala. The evening will be hosted by Deli Boys breakout Asif Ali and feature performances by indie band Chanpan. This year's gala is a significant milestone, as it showcases the organization's dedication to creating opportunities and driving change for Asian and Pacific Islander talent since its launch in 1991. Randall Park, a veteran performer with credits including Fresh Off the Boat, Aquaman, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Veep, and WandaVision, is a familiar face to CAPE, having been honored with a new writers award in 2011. He is also an alumnus of CAPE's programs, along with other Hollywood talent such as filmmakers Alice Wu, Beth de Araújo, and Liz Sargent. The gala's honorees and host committee members will be revealed later, adding to the excitement of the event. CAPE CEO and executive director Michelle K. Sugihara emphasizes the importance of celebrating both CAPE's 35 years and over a decade of uplifting the community. The event is supported by Lexus, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Suntory Global Spirits, ensuring a memorable celebration of Asian and Pacific Islander talent in Hollywood.
