2011 DIABETES SUMMER CAMPS:
The time for summer camp planning is now!    Please see websites for each camp’s details.  As the number of kids with diabetes rises, camps are fill quickly.

Camp Angels: provides financial support / scholarships for kids to attend diabetes camps http://www.campangels.com/Camp

Camp Leo: www.campleo.org, Washington State’s diabetes only overnight summer camp program. Online registration starts March 1, 2011.  Diabetes only camp for mixed ages, one week camp for kids up to eighth grade. The camp is located outside Shelton, WA.

Camp Sealth: www.diabetes.org/adacampsealth Camp Fire Boys & Girls and ADA together provide camp experiences for kids with diabetes along with kids without diabetes, overnight camp on Vashon Island.   July 20-29, 2011.

Chris Dudley Diabetes Basketball Camp: Vernonia OR: Week long extensive and very popular camp for kids, lead by former Portland Trailblazer, Chris Dudley, who is living with Type 1 diabetes. Registration fills very quickly,  ages 10-17.

Fun in the Sun: Rathdrum, ID:  www.campfuninthesun.org, across the border from Spokane, WA, a week long camp for ages 8 – 18.

Gales Creek Camp: www.galescreekcamp.org, week long camps organized by age groups, only for kids with diabetes, camps run July-Aug. Located in outside Portland OR. Registration started January 11th. This camp fills for summer quickly.

Panther Day Campwww.dapc.info, Aug 8-12 2011, mixed ages Type 1 diabetes day camp in South Puget Sound. Carpooling and help with transportation available.

Camp Sweeney www.campsweeney.org, Three, 20 day camp sessions are held for 5-18 year olds with Type 1 diabetes.They also have family camp opportunities. Gainesville, TX
