Special Guest Speaker Lorraine Stiehl
For the past 25 years, Lorraine Stiehl has been involved both personally and professionally in the field of diabetes. Her husband Chris has been living with type 1 diabetes for 52 years, and both she and her husband have been longtime advocates of JDRF. For 14 years, Lorraine has served as a chapter, regional and national staff member for JDRF, traveling across the country speaking about JDRF and diabetes research.
In 2001, Lorraine ended her 14-year professional career with JDRF and became an active volunteer. Ever since becoming an active volunteer at JDRF, Lorraine has been working closely with diabetes researchers, physicians, dieticians, nurses and nurse educators at the University of California, San Francisco Diabetes Center.
