If so, then be sure to apply to attend Children’s Congressand represent all those that are impacted by type 1 diabetes on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. from July 8-10. As a Children’s Congress Delegate from your state, not only will you travel to Washington to meet your Members of Congress, but you’ll also get the chance to help find a cure at the highest levels of the government.
The 2013 application will be available on August 9, 2012 and must be submitted by 5 pm (Eastern) on Thursday, November 1 to be considered for selection. Children’s Congress is held every other year alternating with the Promise campaign, JDRF’s Children’s Congress brings more than 150 children with type 1 diabetes and their families to Washington, D.C. Children’s Congress participants represent all 50 states and the District of Columbia. They meet with Members of Congress and other key federal decision-makers to help educate them about the critical need for federal funding for type 1 diabetes research.
